This easy-to-shape clay is perfect for children to knead and mould with their hands, allowing them to create letters, animals, insects, or models inspired by their studies. Once exposed to air for 24 hours at room temperature, the clay hardens without shrinking or cracking, and the smooth finish makes it perfect for painting and decorating.

This clay can also be used on a pottery wheel (AM1261) to create functional items such as bowls, vases or cups. For a more permanent creation, the clay can be kiln-fired at 1100-1200 °C under adult supervision, transforming it into porcelain. Children can further decorate their fired pieces using porcelain paints and preserve their creations by sealing with varnish. The terracotta colour adds an earthy, natural tone to finished artworks and provides a warm base for any painted design. The clay also supports the development of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, making it an excellent educational tool. It is supplied in a 1kg foil pack and is gluten, wheat and lactose free, ensuring a safe, inclusive experience for all learners.

Educational Use

Enhances fine motor development - through kneading, modelling and detailed shaping.

Fosters self-expression and creativity - with limitless sculpting possibilities.

Supports curriculum-based learning - through science, history or theme-based projects.

Encourages pride and ownership - by creating personal take-home or display pieces.

Classroom Ideas

Create personalised name plaques - shaping letters from clay.

Sculpt curriculum-inspired models - such as insects or historical artefacts.

Use on the pottery wheel - for bowls or vases that can be kiln-fired.

Make classroom display pieces or gifts - painted and varnished by students.

Contents

1kg of Terracotta Air Dry Ceramic Clay

Product Specifications

Brand: Creatistics

Colour: Terracotta

Drying Time: 24 hours at room temperature

Kiln Firing: Yes - 1100 °C to 1200 °C (2012 °F - 2192 °F)

Finish: Smooth and paintable

Sealable: Yes - varnish for surface protection

Shelf Life: Approx. 1.5 years

Storage: Airtight container required to prevent drying

Reactivation: Add a small amount of water if dried

Pack Size: 1kg foil pack

Dimensions: 15 (L) x 13.5 (W) x 3 (H) cm

Allergens: Gluten, wheat and lactose free

Safety: Non-toxic and suitable for educational use

Colour Options Available: White, Terracotta

Pack Size: 1kg

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0626/7633/6753/files/kc1022_creatistics-air-dry-ceramic-clay-1-kg-terracotta_v1_7.jpg?v=1760000862
