mungyo-soft-pastels-pack-of-24
Mungyo Soft Pastels - Pack of 24

The Mungyo Soft Pastels Assorted set of 24 delivers a vibrant and versatile palette, perfect for both students and artists. These highly pigmented soft pastel sticks offer a smooth, consistent colour laydown, while maintaining a soft texture that is easy to blend and layer. The range includes a comprehensive selection of colours suited to landscapes, portraits, still life, life drawing, and abstract compositions. Each stick has a square shape that prevents rolling, and allows artists to work with fine edges for detail or use the sides for bold strokes.

These pastels are ideal for techniques such as crosshatching, flat edge work, stippling, layering, and scumbling. Their fade-resistant pigments hold well on slightly textured pastel papers or card, and they blend easily using fingers, stumps or brushes. Artists can use a workable fixative spray to preserve or layer additional work without smudging prior colours. These pastels are also great for mixed media work when combined with charcoal or pencil drawings, adding extra dimension and texture.

Educational Benefits

Teaches Colour Theory - Encourages exploration of primary and secondary hues and blending.

Develops Fine Motor Skills - Strengthens coordination and control through various mark-making techniques.

Encourages Artistic Confidence - Accessible medium promotes experimentation and expressive freedom.

Supports Tonal Studies - Helps students understand highlights, midtones, and shadows through layering.

Classroom Ideas

Create seasonal landscapes - Explore colour gradients to reflect changes in weather and mood.

Blend still life shadows - Add richness and dimension to everyday object drawings.

Use with charcoal sketches - Enhance realism with pastel colour accents.

Practice texture techniques - Use different paper textures to explore blending results.

Product Specifications

Contents: 24 assorted soft pastel sticks

Stick Size: 6.6(L) x 1(W)cm

Shape: Square for controlled detail and no rolling

Surface Compatibility: Best used on textured pastel paper or card

Blending Tools: Fingers, stumps, or brushes

Fixative Use: Compatible with workable fixative spray

Use Cases: Suitable for wet or dry techniques

Safety: Fade-resistant and non-toxic

Pack Size: 24

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0626/7633/6753/files/mun012_mungyo-soft-pastels-assorted-box-of-24_v1_2.webp?v=1760001526
