natural-soft-charcoal-sticks-tub-of-144
Natural Soft Charcoal Sticks - Tub of 144

The Creatistics Natural Soft Charcoal Sticks - Tub of 144 is an ideal bulk resource for classrooms, art studios, and creative learning spaces, offering a generous supply of high-quality, kiln-fired willow charcoal. These soft, natural charcoal sticks provide smooth, expressive coverage that's perfect for shading, sketching, outlining, and blending on both white and coloured paper. With a rich, velvety texture, the charcoal allows artists to explore depth, contrast, and tone, producing powerful black and white imagery that encourages students to move beyond colour and focus on form and value.

Each tub contains 48 individually wrapped packets, with 3 charcoal sticks per pack, for a total of 144 charcoal sticks-an ideal quantity for classroom distribution or group art projects. The charcoal sticks measure approximately 12cm in length, and vary in width and softness, offering a range of mark-making capabilities from fine lines to broad sweeps. Easily smudged with fingers or blended using a putty rubber, these sticks allow for dynamic shading effects and detailed transitions. Due to the soft and crumbly nature of natural charcoal, it's recommended to use a spray fixative to preserve completed works.

Exclusive to MTA, this tub is a must-have addition to any art and craft cupboard, supporting both technical drawing and expressive artwork in a variety of learning settings.

Educational Benefits

Promotes tonal and value studies - Encourages focus on light, shadow, and contrast.

Enhances fine art technique - Teaches smudging, blending, and sketching skills.

Supports expressive and observational drawing - Ideal for portrait, figure, and still life studies.

Builds understanding of materials - Introduces students to natural media and surface responsiveness.

Classroom Ideas

Charcoal portraiture - Explore facial structure, shading, and emotion through black and white imagery.

Still life studies - Use varying line widths and pressure for realistic object rendering.

Tonal value scales - Practice gradual shading using fingers or blending tools.

Mixed media projects - Combine with ink or white chalk for dramatic compositions.

Product Specifications

Contents: 144 charcoal sticks (48 packs of 3 sticks)

Material: Natural, kiln-fired willow

Grade: Soft

Stick Length: Approximately 12cm

Features: Assorted widths for varied effects, individually wrapped in packs of 3

Application: Shading, outlining, sketching, blending

Fixative Use: Recommended to preserve finished work

Exclusivity: Exclusive to MTA

Brand: Creatistics

Pack Size: Tub of 144 (48 x 3-stick packs)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0626/7633/6753/files/nar101_creatistics-natural-soft-charcoal-sticks-tub-of-144_v1_1.webp?v=1768792058
