Featuring embedded magnets for easy folding and a write-on wipe-off surface suitable for dry erase markers, these expanders visually break down numbers to reveal place values including tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. When folded, each expander is compact and manageable, and fully extended, it offers a broad, clear display of decimal notation. The included teacher guide offers instructions and ideas to maximise learning outcomes. This resource supports understanding of decimals within a range of mathematical concepts including measurement, money, and fractions.

Educational Benefits:

Enhances understanding of decimal place values and notation.

Facilitates visualisation of whole numbers and decimals in different forms.

Encourages hands-on learning through writing and erasing.

Supports teaching of rounding, addition, and subtraction of decimals.

Classroom Ideas:

Use to model decimal numbers during lessons on money and measurement.

Encourage students to fold expanders to reveal only certain decimal places.

Integrate into activities on rounding decimals or comparing decimal values.

Employ teacher guide strategies to create differentiated learning tasks.

Information:

Ages: Suitable for upper primary students

Dimensions: Folded size 205 mm x 55 mm; fully extended 615 mm x 55 mm

Includes: 5 decimal number expanders and 1 teacher guide

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0626/7633/6753/files/knb0200_number-expanders-decimals-set-of-5_v4_3.webp?v=1760001596
