The MTA Spaes Shapes and Words carpet is excellent for exploring early literacy and numeracy concepts. The carpet supports children take their first steps toward learning their basic skills in colours, shapes and letter recognition and naming. The shapes and words  carpet has many bright interesting shapes along with a range of shape related words along the border. Bright and colourful, the shapes and words carpet has sturdy rubber backing for strength and support. The carpet measures 195 x 240cm. Illustrated toys not included.

A good quality carpet contributes to great design to creating warm and welcoming learning spaces for students and teachers to spend time in formal and informal learning settings. Another great advantage of soft furnishings is the sound deadening qualities when children are playing with toys over a traditional wooden floor. In an early childhood setting group times, or circle times, are an important part of the daily curriculum. A carpet to comfortably sit the class, or group of children together with their educators creates the ideal space for stories, role play or drama, games, dancing, yoga, group work, or yarning. Starting off the day with circle time is a great way to welcome everyone to the learning space and plan out the day’s events in partnership with the class, and then transition the children into the learning day. A carpet creates a comfortable space for children to use throughout the days play as well, with the carpet waiting to welcome the class for the next group time, or circle time.

Coloured Space Carpets are designed in Australia. They are manufactured using lead free dyes. The pile is a thick and durable nylon. Coloured Space Carpets are a colourful and bright option for the classroom or play space. They are a great educational tool, encouraging children in numeracy, literacy and colour and shape recognition. Coloured Space Carpets provide a bright foundation for play. This carpet is also a great way to help support social distancing and physical distancing in the classroom. Carpets, and other soft furnishings, make terrific additions to the early childhood education care setting as well as the school environment. Carpets support a range of room settings and configurations including open floor spaces or informal soft furnishings. Both these types of room settings can facilitate collaboration with others, discussion, demonstration, experiential, explicit, feedback and reflection, guided learning or independent learning modes.

Cleaning: Avoid any cleaning agent with bleach or strong chemicals. This can cause the dye to run. It is best to try an area for colourfastness before using across a large area of the rug. We recommend to use a dry powder style of cleaner as they can be vacuumed out of the rug and do not leave any residue. When cleaning, always blot, and never scrub or rub abrasively. This may create a fuzzy area. When vacuuming, do not use the rotating head, and be gentle when vacuuming over the outer serge stitching that is around the edge of the carpet. This can cause serge yarn to become frayed, and torn. Please do not use a wet style of cleaning method and do not saturate carpet with wet solution. We do not recommend to use outdoors or in bright sunlight as the material colours may fade over time. This carpet does not include a stain protection treatment. We recommend to use a proprietary stain protection treatment prior to use and update as required. As this carpet does not have stain protection it may stain and mark.
