The boss head is for use with a laboratory stand. Made out of diecast alloy, the boss head accepts rod up to 16 mm diameter, which are secured with plastic head thumb screws for adjustment. A boss head is used to keep aclamp in placeto which you can secure your glassware. They are often used to hold glassware securely above a Bunsen burner or to hold test tubes for a wide range of chemistry experiments. The height of the boss head can be adjusted on the rod you attach it to, making it suitable for all your science activities.
