Learn about basic mechanical elements and fundamental engineering with the structural engineering bridges and skyscrapers set. This great set allows students to work individually or together to build each of the designs learning about the different functions and characteristics of each component. A great STEAM based resource for children to learn about the key fundamentals of engineering in a fun and hands on way.

There are 20 experiments, plus 5 more challenge experiments from basic to advanced level for the children to explore and demonstrate a basic principle of mechanical physics or structural engineering. Fun, easy to assemble and great for developing students logical thinking and creativity through experiments. Students can even create their own unique designs and present them to the class and teacher along with their concept, what they did, how they failed and finally how they succeeded and what they learned along the way.

Experiment by constructing a truss bridge, arch bridge, suspension bridge and cable-stayed bridge. They can also build skyscrapers in differing shapes and complexities. Explore the forces acting on structural components including tension, compression, shear and torsion. While they do this, they can learn about basic structural elements including columns, beams, trusses, plates, arches, shells and catenaries.

This is great for learning about the fundamentals and then relating it to what can be found in the world around them. They can have more understanding and appreciation each time the drive over or under a bridge and it is a great pathway to the exciting career choice of being in engineer.

Each of the pieces are plastic and this makes these easy to clean and disinfect preventing the spread of bacteria and germs. This also means they are quick to dry allowing the set to be cleaned and stored away for the next class. The plastic design also means they are durable and will maintain their shape for the children to use over and over as they work through each of the 20 experiments and create their 3D designs.

Includes 323 pieces. Ages 6+ years
