Jewellery making is a lovely fine motor skill building activity. Polymer clay is wonderful for making your own jewellery from scratch. The advantage of oven bake jewellery is that the colours are always bright, even when molding shapes with the clay it never looses its intensity. Children can craft something for themselves to wear or give their homemade jewellery to a loved one as a unique present. Working with clay will help children with colour recognition and it also aids them in the development of their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. Each clay colour comes individually wrapped in plastic.

Creativity is a wonderful skill to have which allows children to design and invent. Creative skills also flow into so many developmental areas, allowing children flexible ways to achieve their goals.

TIP: Remember to punch a hole in the clay for stringing on the chain for jewellery before putting in the oven.
