Recycling Bin Base – 60L – Black

These recycling bins bring knowledge about recycling into practice. Students learn in which bin they should put their rubbish – the paper & cardboard bin, the glass & plastic bin, the general waste bin or the compost bin. Put all bins next to each other for a complete waste separation system! Each set comes in colours (red, blue, yellow and green). The bins are 60L and measure 69cm (H) x 43cm (W) x 50cm (L). Each bin comes with a foot pedal.

Caring for the environment is an important aspect of everyday life. Everyone has to do their part to try to make this world a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable place. Recycling is an important aspect to achieve this. The younger students are when they are introduced to the concept of recycling, the more likely it is that they will continue to do so when they grow up.

By introducing these recycling bins to your school environment, students will have to think about their waste management multiple times a day. It will make them realise that they can make good and bad environmental choices and decisions. Students will identify which items can be recycled and which ones can not be recycled. The recycling bins can be part of a lesson plan by letting the students put their waste in the correct bin. Use the compost created by the students to help the plants in your school garden grow. Students will explore different ways of managing wastes sustainably, and how these may include the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle and replace.

Recycling is an important aspect of the curriculum, in both Science and Geography. With these recycling bins, you can include topics like the sustainable management of waste in everyday lesson plans. Furthermore, there are many initiatives each year to make students aware of the need for recycling, like the National Recycling Week and Clean Up Australia Day.
