Phase 4 Workbook - Blends

Learn to read, write and spell at home or at school, all while having fun! Blends Phase 4 Workbook activities progress week by week around Phase 4 of the Letters & Sounds systematic phonics program. This workbook supports children as they begin to learn the 44 letter sounds of the English language. The Blends Workbook has been designed for 5+ year olds, and is the fourth of six workbooks that together form the Letters & Sounds Workbook program. As your child begins to sound out words in each activity, they will also develop their skills in reading and spelling, while having fun at the same time! Please note that there is a mixture of precursive and print fonts. Precursive for letter and word-level work to support handwriting and print font for text-level work to support reading. This phase focuses on consolidating children's knowledge of letter sounds and applying them to adjacent consonants and consonant clusters. The structured progression within each activity encourages students to blend and segment more complex words, fostering fluency and comprehension. The workbook also promotes independence, as learners begin to decode and encode without visual prompts, preparing them for more advanced literacy skills.
