Vowel Sounds Phase 5 Workbook activities progress week by week around Phase 5 of the Letters & Sounds systematic phonics program. This workbook supports children as they begin to learn the 44 letter sounds of the English language. The Vowel Sounds Workbook has been designed for 5+ year olds, and is the fifth of six workbooks that together form the Letters & Sounds Workbook program. As your child begins to sound out words in each activity, they will also develop their skills in reading and spelling, while having fun at the same time! Please note that there is a mixture of precursive and print fonts. Precursive for letter and word-level work to support handwriting and print font for text-level work to support reading. This phase introduces children to more complex graphemes and alternative spellings for familiar sounds, significantly boosting vocabulary and word recognition. Activities are designed to encourage students to investigate spelling choices and apply them in writing, helping build confidence with long vowel sounds and common digraphs. With engaging illustrations and practical tasks, the workbook brings vowel phonemes to life.
