The wands are magnetised for conducting experiments and demonstrations of basic magnetism principles. And find that the counters may look like your regular chips but they actually contain a metallic ring on the inside of each one making it easy for magnets to pick them up. Being on the inside the metallic ring has no chance of ever coming off. Chips are sonically welded for extra durability. Supplied in assorted colours. So many ways to experiment with magnetism!
