Solar Car - DIY Sun-Powered Vehicle

This kit comes with everything you need to build your own Solar Car! Teach students about the properties and applications of renewable energy sources.

This sun-powered vehicle has a wooden body and is a great way to start conversations with students on the topics of environmental technology:

• What kind of materials can be used that are renewable, how can they be processed to minimalise pollution, and can they be recycled or easily biodegraded when no longer able to be used?
• What kind of renewable energy sources can be used for technology?
• How are different forms of renewable energy better suited to various purposes? E.
  g. powering your home, vs. large power sources for cities?
• What renewable energy sources are used in your home or city? What do you think they could implement, and where could they put the necessary equipment?
• How does a solar panel work?
• Do you think solar-powered cars could be a reality in the future? Why/why not?
• How would you design a vehicle to use renewable energy?

This Solar Car kit contains a total of 43 pieces including:

• Wooden boards with laser-cut pieces to pop out to construct the body of the car
• Plastic wheels
• Axels
• Screws and screwdriver
• Solar panel
• Motor kit
• Illustrated instructions
• Product dimensions when built: 6 x 17 x 25 cm

When used indoors, the solar panel has 1.2W, however that does depend on the amount of sun that the solar cell is exposed to.
